Hat-trick for the Forum All-Stars

Postby karthoarse » Thu Mar 04, 2010 10:50 pm

The City flag is flying high over Bridge Village Hall again tonight as the Forum All-Stars fought off a late challenge to win their third consecutive quiz night, but this time by just a single point.

Going into the last round with a 2.1/2 point lead, the team were almost undone by the Everley Brothers and the Pope (amongst others) to squeeze home in a tense and close finish.

Throughout the contest, the team managed to cope with a double fault by Goran Ivanisevic in the joker round, a lack of knowledge on hollandaise sauce and garlic (it's a lilly - apparently), and with not knowing the name of an astronaut that no-one has ever heard of, plus and forgive us for this - not knowing who wrote an autobiography about her own mental breakdown and suicide attempt!! Where does Phil get these questions from??

With the victor's bottles of wine securely bagged again, its on now to Whitstable on 20th March to see if the run can be maintained......
